Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 May 2026
AppealPilot (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI-powered tool that analyzes Indian health insurance claim rejections. This policy explains how we handle the documents you submit, in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. What we process
When you use AppealPilot, you may upload or paste:
- Your health insurance claim rejection letter
- Your insurance policy document (optional)
These documents may contain personal health information, financial details, and other sensitive personal data as defined under the DPDP Act 2023.
2. How we process your documents
Your documents are processed entirely in memory. The workflow is:
- You upload or paste your document in your browser.
- Your document is transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our server.
- Our server passes the document to Anthropic's Claude AI API (see Section 5) for analysis.
- The analysis result is returned to you and displayed in your browser.
- Your document is deleted from memory immediately after the analysis completes. It is never written to disk, a database, or any persistent storage.
3. Optional email delivery
After analysis completes, you may optionally enter your email address to receive your analysis by email. If you choose to do so:
- Your email address is used solely to deliver the analysis to you.
- Your email address is not stored after the email is sent.
- The analysis content is transmitted to Resend (our email delivery provider) for the sole purpose of delivery. Resend's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.
- We do not use your email address for marketing communications.
Providing your email address is entirely optional. You may instead download your analysis as a PDF directly in your browser without providing any contact details.
4. Data we do NOT collect or store
- We do not store your documents after analysis.
- We do not store the analysis results on our servers.
- We do not collect your name or email address unless you voluntarily provide it for email delivery (see Section 3).
- We do not use cookies for tracking.
- We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Purpose of processing
Your documents are processed for one purpose only: to provide you with an AI-generated analysis of your insurance claim rejection and, if you purchase the full tier, to draft an appeal letter. We do not use your documents to train AI models.
6. Third-party services — Anthropic and Resend
To perform the analysis, your document is transmitted to Anthropic PBCvia their Claude API. Anthropic processes your document solely to return an analysis response. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy and API usage policies. Anthropic does not use API-submitted data to train their models by default.
If you use email delivery, your analysis is also transmitted to Resend solely for email delivery. No other third party receives your document content.
7. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe (international cards) or Instamojo (UPI / Indian cards). We do not receive or store your card details. Payment processors are governed by their own privacy policies and PCI-DSS compliance requirements. We receive only a payment confirmation (paid / not paid) and the transaction ID.
8. Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023
As a data principal under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access — request information about what personal data we hold about you (in practice, we hold none after analysis completes).
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data. Because we do not persist data, this is satisfied automatically at the end of each session.
- Grievance redressal — raise concerns with our Grievance Officer (see Section 8).
9. Grievance Officer
For any privacy-related concerns, contact our Grievance Officer at:
Email: privacy@appealpilot.app
We will acknowledge your grievance within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days, as required by the DPDP Act 2023.
10. Consent and withdrawal
Your consent to this policy is obtained via the checkbox on the analysis page before your documents are submitted. You may withdraw consent at any time by closing the page — since no data is persisted, withdrawal has immediate effect.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of AppealPilot after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
